  • A visit with Hannah and Aidan

My cousin, Hannah, and her son, Aidan, came down to visit from VA.  Ryan and Aidan had fun together chasing each other around Aunt Deb's house and playing with trains and cars.  We also went to the pool for a while.  Here are some pics:

Hannah and Aidan (we celebrated Aidan's 2nd bday, thus the reason for the bday hat on Hannah).

We had a fun time and it was nice to see Hannah and meet Aidan for the first time.  The last time we'd seen Hannah, I was pregnant with Ryan and she was getting married to Andrew!  It was fun to see the boys together.

  • Another blow to capitalism and a move toward socialism

Devil is in the details of Mass. health care law
An experiment is cooking in Massachusetts: universal health insurance. On July 1, the Bay State became the first in the nation to require nearly everyone to have an insurance card._ MSNBC.com's Bill Dedman reports on how businesses and individuals are grappling with the implications as the Dec. 31 deadline approaches.

Read the above article and you'll see the potential this has to devastate small businesses (which, in turn, hurts whomever these small businesses come in contact with via the concept of trickle down economics).  Not to mention, it infringes on our individual rights.

  • Oops!

So, any of you who are familiar with Dora the Explorer will know that the command to "Say Buenos Dias" is uttered by the aforementioned Dora in an attempt to teach preschoolers Spanish.  In one of Ryan's Dora books, she utters this command, to which Ryan dutifully utters "Buenos Dias."  Well, earlier today, we'd been reading the Bible and talking about God.  So, when we came to the part with "Buenos Dias", by mistake, Ryan goes "Buenos Jesus" with a serious face, not even realizing his mistake.  I had to laugh.  I thought that was so funny.  So, he joined in, of course, then realizing his mistake.  I suppose it's true - Jesus is Good!  :)
